Game Rules

• Objective: The objective of bowling is to knock down as many pins as possible with a bowling ball.
• Equipment: Each player uses a bowling ball to roll down a wooden or synthetic lane towards a set of pins. The standard game consists of ten pins arranged in a triangular formation at the end of the lane.
• Scoring: Each pin knocked down counts as one point. A strike occurs when all ten pins are knocked down with the first ball. A spare occurs when all ten pins are knocked down within two balls. The maximum score per frame is 10, and the maximum score for a game is 300.
• Game Structure: A game consists of ten frames. In each frame, a player has two opportunities (throws) to knock down as many pins as possible. If a strike is achieved in the first ball of a frame, no second ball is thrown for that frame.
• Frame Progression: After the first ball, any remaining pins are reset, and the player gets a second ball to attempt to knock down the remaining pins. The score is calculated at the end of each frame.
• Foul Lines and Gutters: Players must release the ball before crossing the foul line at the start of the lane. If the ball goes into the gutters without hitting any pins, it is considered a gutter ball and no pins are counted.
• Strike Bonus: When a player gets a strike, they receive bonus points equal to the total number of pins knocked down on their next two throws.
• Spare Bonus: When a player gets a spare, they receive bonus points equal to the total number of pins knocked down on their next throw.
• Tenth Frame: In the final frame, if a player gets a strike or a spare, they are entitled to additional bonus throws. If a strike is thrown in the first ball, two additional throws are given. If a spare is thrown, one additional throw is given.
• Winner: The player with the highest score at the end of the game is the winner.
